Your visit to Uva will take you through golden-green fields of tea to Haputalé (Hapu-thalé) town and the historic Haputalé Pass, where Keppitipola held the British at bay (1817). All three of the Kelburne Mountain View Cottages are colonial-style private houses. While all three cottages have the rustic and elegant touches of the colonial period, There are magazines and books collected over nearly a century of living in British Sri Lanka. Play a board game or two with your friends and family. Feel the clouds as they move through your cottage. Gaze up at the stars, so bright and so close, that you can almost touch them. Curl up with a good book in front of a cozy fire, which can be arranged at your leisure. The colorful, blooming flowers in your private gardens and groomed oceans of tea bushes enveloping your residence create an aromatic and charming atmosphere that cannot be experienced anywhere else!
